Orange French Toast


1 loaf French bread cut into 3/4 inch slices

3 eggs

1 1/2 c. cream or whole milk

1/4 fresh orange juice

2 T sugar

1 T orange zest

1 tsp. vanilla


Beat together all ingredients but the bread. 

 Dip bread into egg custard mixture and cook on hot griddle until golden. 

Approximately 3 minutes each side. 

Dust with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup.

Makes 4 to 8 servings.
