Mix together peanut butter and Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce in any proportion you like. Sounds simple and it is, in fact, simply delicious! Use as a dip for scallions, summer rolls, or even fried plantains. Firm and ripe ordinary bananas are also fabulous dipped in this peanut sauce and eaten alongside Thai food. This is my absolute favorite way to enjoy Sriracha, though I sampled it on many different food items while living in Hawaii. It looks strange, all these years later, living back on the mainland, to not see a bottle on every table the way the casual dining establishments of Honolulu and surrounding areas offer it for patrons use. Ketchup, mustard, salt & pepper…Sriracha.
Update: Get it while it’s hot! A judge has ordered a Sriracha plant in L.A. to partially cease operation, due to the odors the process of making the condiment produces. That stinks!! Let’s hope Sriracha goes the way of the Twinkie and ends up back on store shelves if there is a delay in production.
